Current Applications:
Contactless Contactless cards use tiny radio transmitters, embedded in the card to communicate with receivers in the terminals. They can exchange data from a distance of up to 10 centimeters. Security Plastics has experience in producing "Hybrid Cards". These are plastic cards that contain both contact and contactless technology so they can work in both environments. Future with contactless In Vienna a new twin tower building uses Mifare for everything from building access to cashless payments, time & attendance and access to booked rooms. Airlines are now using contactless for ticketing and seat reservations. Road tolling is the other high volume use because of the robustness of the readers which are sealed so can withstand harsh weather conditions. |
