With extensive experience in this specialised field our customer list comprises over 130 Banks in over thirty countries as well as many other issuers for the retail, petrol, government and membership sectors. Security Plastics’ reputation for excellence is the envy of our competitors. While Security Plastics is an Australasian based organisation, a large portion of production is destined for overseas customers. Security Plastics’ export results have earned the company many accolades particularly in the development and production of smart cards, which represent the next generation of plastic card technology. Security Plastics pioneered the introduction of smart cards in 1993 establishing Australasia’s first smart card manufacturing facility. Security Plastics’ card-processing bureau is in a constant growth phase and is New Zealand’s largest card processing centre by volume supplying significant Government contracts and major Banks. The Security Plastics Card Bureau currently produces over 4 million cards per annum. Of this total we mail in excess of 70% directly to our clients customers. The Bureau services we offer are:
In 1997 Security Plastics was the second card manufacturer in the world to achieve Mondex card production status. In 1998 Security Plastics achieved a world first when Mondex International awarded the Security Plastics self developed SPECtrum software a Level One Pass. Supporting this growth required comprehensive capital expenditure program, which for 1998 included a new 4 colour printing press and in 1999 included a video inspection machine. Combined with the stability of being part of a large group, Security Plastics has had the ability to acquire state of the art equipment and processes to provide clients with the best combination of economy, quality and service. While Security Plastics has its manufacturing base in Christchurch, New Zealand it provides local support in both New Zealand and Australia through its four bureaus, (Auckland, Christchurch, Sydney, Melbourne) and 5 sales offices for overseas markets. In these overseas markets, Security Plastics is represented by local agents/representatives. In 1999 Security Plastics secured the contract to produce the New Zealand driving licences, which incorporate photo identification. Security Plastics have representation in the following countries:
